Bouldering

ClimbLife Rating is primarily designed for indoor rope climbing. It includes features that we believe are closely linked to this discipline, such as recording the type of ascent, comments, and a diary. Although there are apps for recording bouldering routes, we are not yet convinced that there is sufficient demand for this feature. Why? We are not sure if it "makes sense" to enter an ascent for a route that many climbers complete in just a few seconds. We are also uncertain about the role of the type of ascent for climbers and whether they would want to record this in our app. Would they enjoy scanning QR codes, or would they prefer to search for routes on a map by color and difficulty? Please let us know what you think and whether it would be valuable for you to have our app work for bouldering in this survey.

Outdoor Climbing

From the beginning, outdoor climbing was an area we deliberately chose not to venture into. Firstly, building a good database of climbing routes in any location is incredibly hard work. More importantly, we believe that this area is already very well covered by our Finnish friends at 27 Crags. They do an excellent job mapping outdoor areas and maintaining their updates, so for outdoor climbing, besides paper guides and online databases, we mainly recommend using their app, which is great.

One thing we are considering for the future is the integration of outdoor and our indoor diary, so climbers don't have to track their ascents in multiple places, but ideally just one. As always, we would be very happy to hear what you think about this.
